Students from Carinity Education Rockhampton and Wadja Wadja High School will sail at Yeppoon on September 9-10, 2024, as part of the City-Country Partnerships program, fostering cultural exchange and educational support.

Biloela’s Jacinta Bennett won the Years 11 and 12 categories at the IEU-QNT Art Awards for her vibrant piece Never Giving up My Childhood Creativity. Eleni Edowomwan also received a Highly Commended Award.

Why It Matters The program develops formal partnerships between high-performing independent schools and remote schools with a high proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Carinity Education Rockhampton has linked with Wadja Wadja High School for the Australian Government initiative, which is facilitated by the Yadha Muru Foundation. It is one of 14 partnerships forged by schools across Australia aimed at improving student outcomes and attendance rates and paving the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for all Australians.
