What’s happening?
Australian Reinforcing Company (ARC), a key player in steel reinforcement for over 100 years, has officially opened its new, state-of-the-art facility in Rockhampton. Located at 8 Kiln Court, Parkhurst, the new site marks a significant upgrade from ARC’s previous local premises, both in size and capability.
The grand opening was attended by Distribution and Processing Executive General Manager Sean Mannering, ARC General Manager Ben Smith, employees, and customers.
Why it matters
This investment by ARC reaffirms its long-standing commitment to Rockhampton, where the company has operated for more than 60 years. The new facility is a major step in future-proofing the company’s regional presence, supporting both local employment and the construction sector.
Sean Mannering stated, “I’m delighted to see the result of our investment here in Rockhampton with the opening of this incredible new facility and the state-of-the-art fit out, which solidifies our important role in the future of this region.”
He also highlighted the wider industry benefit, adding, “ARC’s new facility demonstrates ARC’s commitment to invest in the Rockhampton community and will enhance productivity and strengthen what we already offer customers for the benefit of the local construction industry.”
Local Impact
The facility upgrade directly benefits Rockhampton’s construction sector through improved efficiency and increased capacity. It also supports local jobs and strengthens ARC’s role in regional infrastructure development. The presence of advanced machinery enhances ARC’s ability to service large-scale projects and local builders alike.
By the Numbers
-
The new site covers 4,000 square metres, more than double the size of ARC’s previous Rockhampton facility.
-
It features four 20-tonne cranes, enabling faster and safer material handling.
-
ARC has maintained a 60-year presence in Rockhampton, showing its deep-rooted investment in the region.

Zoom In
At a granular level, the facility’s expansion provides logistical and operational gains. With the upgraded setup, ARC can process and distribute steel reinforcement more efficiently, supporting everything from residential builds to large infrastructure projects across Central Queensland. The site layout and machinery choices reflect a forward-thinking approach to productivity and safety.
Zoom Out
Nationally, ARC continues to play a foundational role in building Australia—both literally and economically. As a brand of InfraBuild, Australia’s top electric arc furnace-based long steel manufacturer, ARC’s investments in regional hubs like Rockhampton feed into broader goals of sustainable development and nation-building.
What to look for next?
With this investment complete, stakeholders can expect faster project turnarounds, better service for local clients, and potential new job opportunities as operations scale. Rockhampton’s infrastructure pipeline will benefit from ARC’s enhanced capability, and the facility may serve as a model for upgrades in other regional centres.
