A Vision Becomes Reality in North Rockhampton

Yesterday, Rockhampton achieved a significant milestone in its sporting history as the Council revealed a master plan for a regional-scale, multipurpose sports precinct in North Rockhampton.

This visionary project promises to transform the landscape of local sports and recreation.

A Thriving Hub Takes Shape

This isn’t just an abstract idea; it’s a tangible blueprint to create a vibrant sports precinct at the heart of our community. Spanning an impressive 26 hectares and centrally located at the CQUniversity Australia North Rockhampton campus, this precinct is to be the go-to destination for sports and active recreation enthusiasts in the region.

The master plan aims to meet the current and future demand for sports and recreation. It will be developed in stages, bringing exciting new opportunities and facilities to Rockhampton.

Stage 1: A Home for Rockhampton Netball

The first phase of the project will see the creation of a brand-new home for Rockhampton Netball. It’s designed to provide additional capacity for the sport’s growth, expanding the scope of fixtures, carnivals, and competitions.

It also offers local athletes the chance to hone their skills right here in our region.

A Bright Future for Rockhampton Sports

The sports precinct master plan signifies a new era for Rockhampton sports. It’s a well-thought-out, ambitious initiative that will not only provide top-notch facilities but also serve as a catalyst for talent development and community engagement.
