What’s Happening?

Queensland rugby league royalty is heading to Rockhampton for the Former Origin Greats Regional Tour.

The visit will bring some of the state’s best-known rugby league names to Central Queensland.

It will bring together local businesses, rugby league supporters and community leaders.

The afternoon will feature storytelling, entertainment and fundraising.

Wally Lewis, Gene Miles, Matt Gillett, Chris Close and Steve Walters are among the guests.

Legendary entertainer Danny McMaster is also part of the line-up.

Why It Matters?

The event will raise funds for junior rugby league in the Rockhampton region.

It also gives local supporters a rare chance to hear from Queensland rugby league icons.

Broncos, Queensland and Australian legend Matt Gillett said the tour was about giving back.

“Regional Queensland is the heartbeat of rugby league, and Rockhampton has produced and supported some incredible talent over the years,” Gillett said.

“This event is about celebrating the game, connecting with the community and helping ensure the next generation of Queensland players continue to come through local clubs.”
