New Central Isuzu site in Rockhampton

Central Isuzu in Rockhampton

What’s happening?

Central Isuzu has officially opened its brand-new dealership in Parkhurst, Rockhampton, marking a major milestone for the local truck and transport industry. After a decade on Gomersall Road, the dealership has relocated to a sprawling 8,000-square-metre industrial site at Barton Court, now offering expanded services, modern amenities, and a strong commitment to customer care.

Why it matters

The relocation and expansion reflect a wider trend across Australia where truck owners increasingly seek end-to-end care from OEM dealers. Central Isuzu’s new facility sets a benchmark for service, capacity, and environmental compliance, positioning it as a regional powerhouse within Isuzu’s 70-strong national network.

“This expansion is all about improving efficiency in ensuring the customer has their truck turned around quickly and back out delivering for their businesses,” said Central Isuzu General Manager Simon Harris. “Customers expect not only decent amenities, but also a well-stocked parts department, which we now have in spades with this new facility.”

Local Impact

For truck owners across central Queensland from Rockhampton to the far west- the new Parkhurst site promises quicker service, greater comfort, and streamlined access to parts and maintenance.

“We understand that in many cases our customers have made a massive effort to come to us, so we like to treat them accordingly,” said Dealer Principal Mark Dobson. “The comfort of the new dealership goes a long way to ensuring they stay loyal to us and to Isuzu.”

Customers travelled from across the region to attend the official opening earlier this month, signalling strong community support for the new dealership.

By the numbers

  • 1,185.41 m²: Workshop area fitted with state-of-the-art heavy vehicle servicing bays and a fully stocked parts department.

  • 404.60 m²: Ground floor space featuring a modern showroom, customer lounge, and office space for improved client experience.

  • 8,000 m²: Total site area at Barton Court, doubling the size of the former Gomersall Road location and delivering greater operational capacity.

Additional infrastructure includes a 191.72 m² first-floor administration area and a 114.85 m² environmentally compliant wash bay, designed to manage water run-off.

Zoom In

The team at Central Isuzu are already settling into their new environment. “Our team has been super excited to get into the new location after 10 years at the old site,” said Harris. “They all agree it has been worth the wait over the last few months.”

He added, “From a capacity point of view, we’ve doubled the size of the workshop and for the team on the floor and indeed our customers – the entire facility is modern, comfortable, and what you’d expect of the number one brand in the country.”

Dealer Principal Dobson noted, “From Rockhampton out to the far west of Queensland, our area of operation is quite widespread, so we’re delighted to be the home of Isuzu in central Queensland.”

Zoom Out

The opening highlights Isuzu’s continued investment in regional Australia. Ben Lasry, Director at Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL), praised the new dealership, calling it one of the most modern across the national network.

“Isuzu has over 70 dealer sites across the country, and I have to say, Rockhampton has one of the most modern in the network,” Lasry said. “Mark, Simon, and the team can feel very proud of what they have built, especially as it’s not just bricks and mortar, but also the outstanding team that operates in Rockhampton.”

He added, “The growth of Isuzu in Queensland comes off the back of operations such as Central Isuzu and with an eye on delivering to the customer, this site has been thoughtfully developed to achieve exactly that.”

What to look for next?

As new Isuzu truck models roll into Central Queensland, Dobson believes demand will only grow. “I witnessed the trucks in Melbourne earlier in the year and Isuzu blew everyone away at the Brisbane Truck Show,” he said. “Some really great things are coming our way, which gives us reassurance for the future with the brand and the new model range.”

“There’s only one thing better than seeing the new models arrive at Central Isuzu,” Dobson concluded, “and that is seeing them heading back out the gate with happy customers behind the wheel.”
