What’s Happening?

English singer-songwriter Chris Jagger, younger brother of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, will perform at the 2027 Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival in Seventeen Seventy.

The international artist will take the Marquee Stage on Saturday, 20 February, marking the beginning of his Australian tour. He will return on Sunday, 21 February, for an intimate session featuring stories from his career and memoir.

The three-day festival runs from 19 to 21 February 2027 at the SES Grounds on Captain Cook Drive.

Why It Matters

Chris Jagger brings decades of musical experience to the festival, with a career spanning blues, folk, country, Cajun, zydeco and roots music.

Although many know him through his famous brother, Jagger has established his own career as a musician, songwriter, author and broadcaster.

He has released more than a dozen albums, both independently and with his band Atcha. His recordings have also featured collaborations with Mick Jagger, David Gilmour, Charlie Hart and members of the Rolling Stones touring band.

Local Impact

The festival will return to the Discovery Coast following what organisers describe as a record-breaking event in 2026.

This year’s program will feature nearly 40 live acts across two stages, alongside free workshops, markets and food and beverage trucks.

Meanwhile, a shuttle bus service will operate around the local area throughout the weekend, with rides costing $2 per person.

The festival also supports local organisations. According to the media release, profits from the 2027 event will go towards local community groups and the 1770 Festival.

By The Numbers

  • Nearly 40 live acts: The festival will feature performances across two stages.
  • More than 50 years: Chris Jagger’s career spans over five decades in music and entertainment.
  • $70 saving: Three-day festival passes cost $179 until 1 November, compared with the full price of $249.

Zoom In

Jagger’s Sunday appearance will give festivalgoers a closer look at his life beyond the stage.

The session will draw on his 2021 memoir, Talking To Myself, which explores his upbringing in the Jagger family, travels and experiences in music.

His stories include connections with artists such as Mick Jagger, David Gilmour and Jimi Hendrix.

Beyond his musical career, Jagger has also worked as an actor, journalist, broadcaster and documentary producer.

Zoom Out

The Agnes Blues, Roots & Rock Festival has been running since 2008, bringing live music to Queensland’s Southern Great Barrier Reef region.

The Queensland Government supports the event through Tourism and Events Queensland, while Gladstone Regional Council’s Community Celebration Fund is also supporting the 2027 festival.

Jagger’s appearance adds an international performer to a program that combines established musicians, live entertainment and community activities.

What To Look For Next?

Discounted three-day passes are available for $179 per person until 11:59 pm on Sunday, 1 November 2026. After the promotion ends, the full ticket price will be $249.
