Supporting Fitzroy Community Hospice through Melodies and Compassion
Rockhampton’s cherished Carols by Candlelight event is set to resonate with more than just festive cheer this year.
Mayor Tony Williams announced that the proceeds from this heartwarming tradition will grace the Fitzroy Community Hospice with much-needed financial support, aiding in the creation of a serene landscape at their upcoming Agnes Street facility.
The initiative, spearheaded by local volunteers and community efforts, signifies a profound grassroots movement. Mayor Williams expressed his delight in the collaboration, emphasising the pivotal role this contribution will play in facilitating the hospice’s landscaping costs and highlighting its significance within Central Queensland.
A Symphony of Giving Back
Fitzroy Community Hospice, established by passionate locals in early 2021, stands as a beacon of altruism, aiming to provide comprehensive palliative care without financial burden.
Dr Vicki Richmond, Chair of the Hospice, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to increase awareness and garner support for their cause through the Mayor’s Carols by Candlelight.
