What’s happening?
The Mount Isa Mines Indigenous Rodeo Championships will return Sunday, 10 August, with a free Indigenous Rodeo Clinic taking place earlier on Thursday, 7 August at the Campdraft Grounds. Leading the clinic are Kalkadoon cowboy Donovan Rutherford and PBR Rookie Jake Curr, joined by mentor Darryl ‘Chongy’ Chong.
Why it matters
Rockhampton riders with rodeo dreams can gain national exposure and elite mentorship. “This sport is in great hands,” said Mark ‘Tommo’ Thompson. “We’re thrilled to provide this free clinic to help riders grow their skills and confidence.”
Local Impact
Central Queensland continues to produce top rodeo talent. This clinic offers Rocky locals an accessible pathway to a national stage.
