What’s happening?

Community groups in Rockhampton are invited to apply for the 2025-26 Queensland Country Bank Good for Good Community Grants. Applications are now open for funding of up to $30,000 per project. The program has been running since 2005 and has invested $3 million to help Queensland’s not-for-profits deliver grassroots projects in arts, culture, sport, health, education, recreation and sustainability.

Why it matters?

Queensland Country Bank is a member-owned bank. It reinvests back into the communities that support it. These grants are important for rural and regional groups that need help to buy new or improved equipment and infrastructure. The funding helps organisations build sustainability and long-term impact.

Local Impact

Queensland Country Bank Rockhampton Local Manager Jodie Hare said the program has already helped a range of initiatives in the region. “As a member-owned bank, Queensland Country Bank is able to give back to the local communities which support us,” Ms Hare said. She added that these grants are particularly valuable in rural and regional communities throughout Queensland to support equipment and infrastructure that contribute to sustainability and longevity.

Ms Hare highlighted past Rockhampton recipients. “Past recipients in our region have included the Capricornia Catchments who received over $11,000 for recycling machinery, and the Brothers Australian Football Club who received $5000 to upgrade their lighting at Kele Park. These initiatives have long-lasting benefits for our community,” she said.

By the numbers

  • Since 2005, the program has invested $3 million across Queensland.

  • Last year’s round invested almost $150,000 into 15 organisations statewide.

  • Local recipients have received over $11,000 and $5000 for separate projects that continue to benefit the community.

Zoom In

Ms Hare said the application process has been designed to be simple and accessible. “We’ve created a clear Application Guide on our website to assist groups to check their eligibility and prepare their application, and we encourage interested groups to come into the Queensland Country Bank branch to discuss their project idea,” she said.

“Whether your organisation’s project idea is big or small, we want to hear how it will make a difference in the local community, and we want to help you make it happen,” she added.

Zoom Out

The Good for Good Community Grants have a strong record of helping groups statewide. They have supported projects that improve facilities, boost sustainability and provide ongoing benefits. With more than $3 million invested since the program started, the reach continues to grow.

What to look for next?

Applications are now open and will close on 31 August 2025. Community groups can visit www.queenslandcountry.bank or their local branch for details and to access the Application Guide. Approved projects will be announced later this year, bringing another round of lasting improvements to Queensland communities.
