Country on Quay Returns in 2024: A Musical Extravaganza

Rockhampton’s Premier Country Music Event Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

Rockhampton River Festival is gearing up for a landmark celebration as it marks its 10th anniversary this July.

A major highlight of this year’s festival is the much-anticipated return of Country on Quay, an opening night concert that promises to captivate audiences with Australia’s finest country music talent.

An Impressive Lineup

Following its triumphant debut in 2022, Country on Quay will once again light up the Tunuba Stage on Friday, July 26th.

Headlining the event is the internationally acclaimed Travis Collins, known for his nine albums, over 36 million streams, and numerous awards, including nine Golden Guitar Awards.

Collins is set to deliver an unforgettable performance, filled with heartfelt ballads and exhilarating country-rock anthems.

Joining Collins are rising stars Gemma Kirby, Lewis McKee, and Australian Idol sensation Trent Richardson. Kirby, returning after a brief hiatus, is back with new music and her trademark powerhouse performances.

Local talent Lewis McKee, born and raised in the Beef Capital, is poised for a breakout year with the release of his debut EP in June. Meanwhile, Trent Richardson’s dynamic talent and charismatic presence, showcased on Australian Idol, are set to make a lasting impact.

Celebrating the Fitzroy River

The festival, running from 26-28 July, is not just about music. It’s a celebration of Rockhampton’s rich cultural, food, and entertainment offerings, all centred around the Fitzroy River, known as Tunuba.

This river has been a lifeline for Central Queensland since the Dreaming, and the festival aims to honour this heritage while creating lasting memories.

Advance Rockhampton Tourism and Events Manager Zac Garven highlights the significance of the event, “The Rockhampton River Festival leverages the stunning natural and built heritage of the riverbank, offering rich experiences in arts, culture, and food.”

Locals are encouraged to invite friends and family to experience the magic of the festival, ensuring the 10th anniversary is a truly memorable event.
