What’s Happening?
Rockhampton and surrounding communities will unite on Friday, 25 April 2025 to commemorate ANZAC Day. This year marks two major milestones: the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing and the 75th anniversary of Australian service in the Korean War and Malayan Emergency.
Dawn and day services, marches, breakfasts, and tributes will take place in Rockhampton, Gracemere, Mount Morgan, Westwood, Bouldercombe, Marmor, and Alton Downs. A special early service is also planned in Koongal on Thursday, 24 April at Stenhouse Park.
Why It Matters
This year’s commemorations go beyond tradition. They honour over a century of courage, sacrifice, and service from Australia’s armed forces. The events also reflect the growing community commitment to remembrance, civic pride, and intergenerational reflection.
Local Impact
Road closures, shuttle services, and community gatherings will transform parts of the region, especially around Rockhampton’s CBD. These events bring together veterans, families, youth, and volunteers to show unified respect.
“Community members and families of the Rockhampton Region will come together this Friday to honour and commemorate ANZAC Day and those who have served past and present.”
