What’s happening?

A Rubyvale man has been charged after an investigation into property and vehicle offences across the Central Highlands.

Emerald detectives allege the offences happened across the region earlier this year.

Police said the matters involved break and enter, vehicle thefts and stealing offences.

The man was arrested at a Sapphire address and taken into custody.

He is due to appear before Emerald Magistrates Court today, 3 July.

Investigations remain ongoing.

Why it matters?

The charges come as police continue targeting repeat property offending across Queensland.

Capricornia District Detective Inspector Luke Peachey said the work formed part of Operation Yankee Forge.

“Every victim of property crime deserves to know we’re doing everything we can to identify those responsible and prevent further offending,” Detective Inspector Peachey said.

He said police would keep targeting repeat offenders while staying visible in high-need areas.

“Our officers will continue to target repeat offenders while maintaining a visible presence in the places that need it most,” he said.

“This operation is about more than making arrests, it’s about reducing crime, increasing community confidence and ensuring people feel safe where they live, work and visit.”

Local Impact

The case affects communities across the Central Highlands, including Emerald, Sapphire, Rubyvale and Anakie.

Police said the alleged offending involved homes, vehicles and local premises.

For residents, the case highlights the ongoing impact of property crime in regional communities.

Detectives are asking anyone with relevant information to contact the police.
