What’s happening?
Ingenia Communities has begun construction on Ingenia Lifestyle Seagrove in Taroomball, near Yeppoon.
The project will deliver a resort-style over-50s community to Queensland’s Capricorn Coast in Central Queensland. Today, an official sod-turning ceremony marked the milestone on site.
Ingenia representatives attended alongside Livingstone Shire Mayor Adam Belot, Deputy Mayor Pat Eastwood, Councillor Lance Warcon, Councillor Rhodes Watson, Councillor Andrea Friend, Michelle Landry MP and project consultants.
The community will feature a range of two-bedroom homes. In addition, selected designs will include multipurpose rooms to support flexible living.
A dedicated sales suite will open in July 2026. It will offer buyers their first look at home designs and interior finishes.
Adam Forrester, Head of Development QLD at Ingenia Lifestyle, said the project marks a key step for the region.
“Ingenia Lifestyle Seagrove represents a new chapter in over 50s living for the region, offering architecturally designed homes in a secure and connected community,” he said.
“What we love about this community is that it offers a unique opportunity for locals to downsize to a brand-new home while staying in the area they love. Many families are moving to Yeppoon, and this is a place where grandparents can live comfortably while remaining close to their children and grandchildren.
“This is one of those places that instantly feels different. You’re surrounded by natural landscape, with that bush-to-beach atmosphere, but still deeply connected to everything around you. It’s been shaped as its own neighbourhood within the wider community, offering privacy, character and a strong sense of belonging.
“As one of the first over-50s developers in the region, we are proud to deliver high-quality, vibrant places for people to call home.
“With construction now underway, we look forward to welcoming the first residents and providing a lifestyle that combines comfort and a true sense of belonging, while giving them the freedom and time to focus on the things they love most.”
Why it matters?
Ingenia Lifestyle Seagrove introduces a new housing option for over-50s in the Yeppoon area. At the same time, it brings the land lease model to the local market, offering both affordability and security.
Importantly, residents will have access to resort-style amenities without deferred management fees. As a result, the project supports a more accessible lifestyle option.
More broadly, the development reflects ongoing growth along the Capricorn Coast. It also supports locals who want to downsize while staying close to family and community.

Local Impact
The Taroomball location offers a strong balance between convenience and coastal living. Residents will live close to shops, medical services, beaches and dining precincts.
A proposed retail centre will sit just 1.5 kilometres from the site. Meanwhile, Yeppoon Town Centre is only 4 kilometres away.
The Yeppoon Outdoor Recreation Centre lies 3 kilometres from the community. In addition, Keppel Bay Marina is about 8 kilometres away, providing access to Great Keppel Island.
Rockhampton is also within easy reach, giving residents access to major services and retail options.
