What’s happening?
Rockhampton’s largest Vinnies has unveiled its fresh new look, with locals invited to a full day of bargains and community fun on Saturday 29 November from 9am to 4pm. The revamped Gladstone Road store now offers modern displays, more fitting rooms and a new bridal and formalwear section with a lounge space for brides-to-be.
The event includes a community barbeque, an ice cream van and a $10 fill-a-bag offer at the on-site warehouse.
Why it matters?
The store is a key part of the region’s op shop scene and supports people facing hardship. The upgrade aims to make the space brighter and more welcoming while still keeping the warm community feel locals know.
Renovation work relied on the support of volunteers who kept the store running while helping refresh the entire space.
Local impact
With every sale helping fund support for locals facing poverty, homelessness and hardship, the store’s improved layout aims to boost both shopping ease and community support. The store is also calling for more volunteers and quality pre-loved donations to keep meeting local demand.
