The Queensland Government has announced that applications are now open for the 2026 AgriFutures Australia Rural Women’s Award. This national program recognises women who show leadership in rural industries, businesses, and communities.

Why it matters

Queensland’s 2025 state winner, Nicole McNaughton, Chief Executive Officer of the Food and Agribusiness Network, will represent the state at the National event in Canberra on Tuesday 28 October 2025. “I’m excited for the upcoming National Gala – it’s a chance to reconnect with my fellow state winners, celebrate the strength of rural women, and proudly fly the flag for Queensland,” Ms McNaughton said.

Local impact

Queensland finalists will each receive a $2,000 grant from the Queensland Country Women’s Association. In addition to this support, they will also gain access to alumni and professional development opportunities.
